Aku-Aku Tiki Bar

Aku-Aku Tiki Bar was a Polynesian-themed cocktail venue located at Thorvald Meyers gate 32 in Oslo's Grünerløkka neighborhood, paying homage to Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl and his historic 1947 Kon-Tiki expedition across the Pacific. The bar transported guests to an exotic island haven with prolific tiki drinks served in skull-shaped glasses, classic cocktails, and house-made Aku-Aku lemongrass ale. A replica of one of Thor's canoes, on loan from the Kon-Tiki museum, hung from the ceiling as a distinctive centerpiece. The bar closed on April 6th, 2024, ending its run as a beloved tiki haven in Oslo's vibrant cocktail scene where rum lovers and cocktail enthusiasts gathered for authentic tropical-inspired drinks and unique Polynesian atmosphere.
