First Edition is a comic book-themed craft cocktail bar in Oakland's Uptown neighborhood, featuring 3,000 square feet across two mezzanines, an outdoor roof deck, and large-scale comic panels by artist Michael Brennan above the bar. The drinks menu draws from The Cocktail Codex's six foundational cocktail templates, while food comes from the adjacent Xolo Taqueria. Opened in 2019 by the owners of San Francisco's Jackalope, it combines upscale cocktails with a laid-back neighborhood bar atmosphere.
