The Drifter

The Drifter is Belgium's first tiki bar, established in 2014 in Ghent with a philosophy built on handcrafted excellence and quality rum. Located at Steendam 53, the intimate venue seats fewer than 30 guests beneath a striking wave-shaped mosaic tile bar counter. Every ingredient—juices, syrups, cordials, and shrubs—is made in-house, and each rum bottle is handpicked for quality and ethics. Signature drinks include the Mai Tai, Zombie, and house creations like Missionary Basil's Downfall, with bartenders selecting from over 300 rums to customize daiquiris. The bar also hosts rum tastings and workshops, operating daily except Tuesdays, offering an authentic tiki escape in Ghent.
