The Shady Pig, located in Canggu's Berawa neighbourhood, is the original speakeasy of The Shady Family and a staple of Bali's underground cocktail scene. Designed as an immersive 1920s Birmingham prohibition experience complete with barrel-aged bourbon and bartenders styled after the Peaky Blinders cast, the venue requires a password for entry and transforms nightly from an intimate blues-and-dim-light speakeasy from 7 PM to 11 PM into a late-night establishment with DJs. The bar pioneered a signature approach where cocktails lead and food follows, with creative pairings like the Bloody Pristine served with wagyu beef tartare and the Cape Town Bees Knees paired with spiced fish crudo, establishing The Shady Pig as an innovative force in Bali's cocktail culture.
